3/23/10

All is well...

"We live in a beautiful world, yeah we do, yeah we do..."

* I got married on 03/13/10 to a beautiful, wonderful woman. I can do whatever I want in my bedroom now boy. Woo-hoo!

* My tungsten ring ("heavy stone"), is awesome. It has a Greek Cross design on it which will never scratch off because tungsten is scratch proof. I really like it.
* I had an amazing honeymoon in San Antonio, Texas. So relaxing. Got a new tattoo of Lynette's name over my heart. (Yeah, I know you should never get somebody's name tattooed on you, but if I thought there was a way out of marriage, then why get married at all. It was my artistic way of showing my commitment. Besides like Drake says: "I want THIS shit FOREVER man...")

*(I will blog about the wedding and honeymoon from my perspective soon. If you want to hear Lynette's side of the story, check out her blog...)

* The American Government passed a Healthcare Reform Bill. Finally we join our Western Civilization friends in moving towards providing Universal Healthcare for our citizens. Maybe Democrats will lose seats in Congressional elections, but it will be a worthy sacrifice. I grew up without healthcare for 10 years. Luckily I never needed to go to the hospital. Even when I got Razor-Edged on a couch or inhale fire extinguisher fumes, I fortunately never needed to go to the emergency room. I never needed insurance, but I would have loved that security blanket.
  • I am very excited. I personally do not mind if this means higher Federal taxes for me. I am willing to share my money if it means some good can be done for my fellow citizens.
    • The U.S. has never done anything like this, it is our biggest socialist political action since FDR's sweeping actions in the 1930s & 1940s. People thought he was a socialist too. He saved the countries economic system and was elected to four presidential terms. More popular than George Washington himself, who could have become King if he wanted the title.
    • We are the country that everybody looks to for leadership. Our country's economy is the lynchpin to the global market. We police half the world (we still have troops in Germany and Japan, just in case you live under a rock and did not know that). We should not be satisfied with being solely economic and military leaders in the world. We should strive to be social justice leaders as well. Historically we have always been overly isolated and conservative, while our European cousins lead us in progressive movements. That's historical fact, not my liberal opinion.
    • This Health Reform Bill is scary, but as Biden said "It's a big Fucking deal." It's huge that we've stepped onto the Universal Healthcare train. Now sit back and let's see where the ride takes us. Give the black conductor a chance before you ask to get off and demand his head on a platter. (oh figurative language, how I love thee, let me count the ways...)
"Compassion is not weakness, and concern for the unfortunate is not socialism."
-- Hubert H. Humphrey, Vice President of Lyndon B. Johnson
