I like the new strand of "reality horror" films. I mean the horror movies that came out when I was a teen: sucked. Any Scream movie after the first one, Halloween:H20, I Know What You Did Last Summer - strap me in a chair and force me to listen to Dick Vitale for 24 hours. That is much scarier than any of those.
But this new strand of horror movies are freaking scary. Because they toy around with the idea that these things could have happened in our world. In our reality. Thank you Blair Witch Project (the first one, not the awful cashing-in sequel). All three Paranormal Activities are scary, in my opinion. The way they are done are really smart too, in that every sequel is actually a prequel that tells more backstory. And the successor to the PA throne - The Devil Inside is terrifying. It deals with the supernatural and faith (I think exorcism is the scariest concept in life, because I do not understand it or anything related to it, "The Exorcist" is the scariest movie of all time in my opinion) which are always creepy to me. If you have not seen it and scare easily, wait to rent it.
Just glad there are good horror movies being made again.
