- She is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. Her smile melts me in a million ways.
- You will never realize how valuable sleep is until you have a child. Until somebody else's life and wellbeing depend on you getting up in the middle of the night and sacrificing your own precious rest.
- Using cloth diapers seems cool and wise, until your child poops. Putting your hands into a toilet and hand-scrubbing the poop out. At times like this I remind myself, Jesus touched lepers. I can touch poop.
- A human life and mind being in your hands is scary and awesome all at once.
- Every milestone that she reaches seems amazing. Babies make you stop and appreciate the little moments in life that adults overlook constantly.
- A child restores the beauty and magic of Christmas. Santa is cool again.
- Children's clothing is mostly for adults. Maggie May hates shirts pulled over her big head.
- On that note, I love that my child is in the 97th percentile or higher for the three growth categories (height, weight, and head). Love it. She makes many of her contemporaries look like shrimps.
- On that note, my uncles think that it will be hilarious if I build a toy city and have her walk through it and destroy it ala "Godzilla" or "Gojira" as the Japanese say it. I completely agree with my uncles and cannot wait until she starts walking. (Seriously since she has been 5 months old every time we have seen my family one of my uncles will make a comment to this effect.)
- Having a child makes me not want to work at home. Especially on the weekends.
- If my wife dies before me, I have daydreamed about standing over her grave ala "Forrest Gump" and telling her, "She's so smart Lynette. You'd be so proud." I know I'm weird.
- A bottle is much easier than feeding "real food". And way less messier.
- I love being a dad.

I am a dad...
So my daughter is eight months old today. Which is mind-boggling to think about. I have not written a thing about her on this nearly extinct blog, and for that forgive me Maggie May. So here are some light musings about being a father.
