*This post is inspired by a comment a customer made at the Firework Stand, and has stuck with me. I have wanted to make commentary on this subject for sometime, but this guy's simple words hit me hard. He stated when he was paying for the fireworks, and said, "Don't forget the taxes, I gotta pay THAT guy."
Our government is failing us. (Note the present participle denoted by the use of -ing.The present participle in the English language denotes something that is actively happening.)
I unabashedly voted for Barack Obama. I believed in his promises of change and that it would not be business as usual. However thus far, that is not true. Actually he is hardly changing much.
True, the nation does now have a Universal Healthcare plan and we are looking to eventually pull back our military involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan in the coming years, but other than that it is sadly business as usual.
His economic team is all cronies from CitiBank; GoldmanSachs...no change there. IN fact, people like them who cannot even fucking run a company, should be kept light years away from running a national economy. It is simple fucking common sense...but not in fucking Washington.

*That is as far as I got. On 1/25/11, after the State of the Union, I can say the political landscape is a little more peaceful, but you know what that took, an assassination attempt of a congresswoman in Arizona. For awhile people will play nice. Let's just hope it's a long while and we can fix some crap wrong in this country. Before all the old men start bitching and fighting and exercising cowardice in the name of "party-line" and "political longevity".
