"We're fools whether we dance or not, so we might as well dance..."

Tonight I went to my friend Matt Briggs wedding. The sly silent dog beat Adam, Zach, and I to the punch.

Sitting at the wedding, I was overwhelmed with thoughts like:

  • Second only to childbirth, weddings are the most surreal moments we can share with another person. Weddings are this monumental stepping stone for the two people whose lives are being joined together, but it is important for the people gathered as witnesses as well.
  • For me, basically on the eve of getting married, I was just reminded of this new world I am about to step into.
  • The ceremony made me think of all the details that I still have to figure out for my wedding.
  • How love has all these spiritual dimensions that I really need to become more mindful of in the coming months.
And I danced a little. Lynette and Tiffany made me. You cannot say no to a sassy Sorority girl and an Italian.

Then the bride's Sorority sisters did a chant and I said, "Peace I'm out." (Not really.)

p.s.- And I got to see and hear John Schwartz speak. God speaking through him is mystically soothing. Amen.

I love any mention of John Schwartz.

And I also happen to completely agree.
