So that fool Simien came into town this weekend to hang out. We were gonna play video games, but my PS2 is in my classroom closet, because I use it as a reinforcer for my students. I did not think to bring it home on Friday. On the flipside his PS3 is not able to work on Lynette's TV, so we're screwed.
Alternative, was to go to his friend Doug's house and play his PS3 there. Doug has HD TV's fully capable of working with a PS3. He should, his dad tests phones for Sprint.
However, we get out there Friday night and we can't play because Doug's fiancee's bridal shower was in the basement, and turns out the upstairs TV was not PS3 compatible. Doug and Simien instead starting playing "Magic the Gathering" and since I had nothing else to do, I gave in and played.
I had almost been enticed into the world once in college. I tried to play one hand in Simien's dorm room and I did not get any mana, so I lost in two turns.
Anyways, I kinda got into it. I even tried to make my own deck. It was hard and my deck sucked. There are Blue, Red, Green, White, and Black "magics". My favorite kinds of decks were Elves, Slivers, and Merfolk.
I am toying around with buying some of my own cards, but that will be awhile down the road. Probably after the wedding.
I think I crossed into a whole new realm of nerdiness. But I mean the artwork is so cool on those cards and its engrossing. I won two games, did I mention that.
I just have to stay away from Dungeons and Dragons.
Oh, did I mention Lynette was devastated about my new venture further into the world of geekdom?
Good Night and Good Luck.
